Boarding at Carousel Farm

BOARDING RATES: $350.00 per month, per horse plus tax. All boarded horses are required to maintain current vacination schedules, updated coggins and rabies vacinations as Carousel Farm will not only be a boarding facility but a breeding operation as well. All health record should be kept current with the management. We are a complete care boarding facility. INITIAL MONTH BOARD under 30 days, will be $15.00 per day, plus tax, payable on the first day the horse is boarded. On the first day of each month following, board becomes due and payable. A LATE CHARGE of $25.00 will be assessed if payment is not received by the 5th of the month. If board is not paid by the 10th of the month and no special arrangements have been made, a lien shall be attached to the horse and equipment of the Boarder within possession and control of and they may be sold to satisfy the lien and cost of, but not limited to monthly board. Board MUST be paid in full each month. Any exceptions must be documented in writing with the Carousel Farm Management. The unused portion of a Month’s Board is not refundable should a horse leave prior to the end of the month. The Farm Management requires a 30 day notice of any Boarders that choose to remove their horses or the Boarder will be responsible for payment of board for 30 days from the date of notification that the horse will be leaving. OUR BARN IS A “Smoke Free Facility”. There is to be NO SMOKING in the Lounge, Stable or Tack areas. When smoking, please properly dispose of butts.
TRANSIENT BOARD
$25.00 per day, plus tax. Current coggins and Health Papers are required.
EMPTY STALLS
A boarder may hold a stall by the month at a rate of $150.00 per month. CAROUSEL FARM WILL PROVIDE: FEED Oats, Pellets or Sweet Feed, or any combination of the three, will be fed per your instructions, up to five quarts per feeding (ten quarts/day). Horses are fed twice daily—morning and evening. Additional feed may be purchased at a rate of $.25 per quart. HAY Will be fed three times a day per owner’s instructions.
SPECIAL FEEDS
Will be provided by the OWNER or purchased by CAROUSEL FARM at the OWNER’S expense. Feeding substitute feeds must be arranged with the Management and any adjustments to your bill will be discussed. SUPPLEMENTS TO NORMAL FEED Any items added to the normal feeding program will be considered supplements and will be charged a rate of $5.00 per additive, per horse, per month. Noon feedings and preparation of special feeds will be charged as an additive. Any special medicines and/or mashes, etc. will be considered as supplements and will be charged based on the time it takes to prepare and administer the supplement at a cost of $5.00 - $10.00. INJECTABLE MEDICINES ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNER. PLEASE MAKE YOUR FEED CHANGES AND ADJUSTMENTS WITH THE MANAGEMENT.
WORMING
It is recommended, but not required that all owners join the Farm’s worming program. Horses will be wormed during the first week of every odd month on a rational basis as the Management sees fit. Owners that do not participate in this program must notify the Farm Management that their horse(s) has(have) been wormed on a routine basis. NO ONE OTHER THAN THE MANAGEMENT OR THOSE APPOINTED BY THE MANAGEMENT OF THE FARM SHALL BE IN THE FEED ROOM-FEEDING OR HAYING HORSES.
STALL MAINTENANCE
Adequate bedding will be provided and stalls will be cleaned daily and maintained by stable employees. If excessive bedding is desired, please make arrangements through the office. Boarders are not to simply help themselves to the sawdust stored in the sawdust bin. Boarders may assist with stall cleaning at any time by picking their own stalls as they wish. If additional bedding is desired, please make arrangements with the Management and there will be an additional charge of $30.00/month for a Boarder that requires extra sawdust. TURN OUT as directed by the owner weather permitting on Monday to Friday. There is no extra charge for our turning out your horse on Monday to Friday. THERE WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR BELL BOOTS, SPLINT BOOTS, FLY MASK AND BLANKET CHANGES, etc. or other special instructions in connection with turn out as requested by owner. Turn out on weekends is up to the boarder; the weekend barn help is not required to turn out horses. Weekend barn helpers may turn out horses if they desire or if time and weather permits.
INDOOR AND OUTDOOR ARENAS
Any Boarder of Carousel Farm has the right to use these areas for working and exercising their horse(s). Please be considerate of other Boarders. All horses should be lunged on a line or in the round pen. Do not lunge your horse if it interfers with riders or lessons. Do not leave your horse unattended on the cross ties or in the arena. (Boarders will be assessed for damages to jumps or other equipment should horses cause any damage that are permitted to free lunge in the arenas.) Riding during lessons is allowed. Please be considerate of the people taking lessons.
HEATED WASH ROOM OR OUTSIDE WASH RACK
Hot water is available for use by any Boarder. Each Boarder using the wash room and/or outside wash rack must clean up after their horse(s). Please leave the wash room as you found it and report to the Management should you find the wash room in an unacceptable condition. WASHING MACHINE/DRYER are available at $1.00 per wash and $.75 per dry for washing your horse’s clothing. Please do not leave items in the utility room.
TACK BINS
Each Boarder will be allowed the use of ONE tack bin per horse boarded. All items must be kept neatly within the bin edges. Additional bins are available at a rate of $10.00 per month and will be charged if used. Carousel Farm will not be responsible for any Boarder’s tack. Individuals need to make arrangements on their home owners policy to carry insurance on personal tack. The last person in the barn at night should lock the tack room door. Tack is the responsibility of the individual owners. Private tack rooms are available, please ask about fee.
VETERINARIAN & FARRIER FEES
OWNER MUST PAY FOR ALL CHARGES WHEN SERVICES ARE RENDERED unless prior arrangements have been made with the Vet , Farrier or Farm Management for billing. A 10% billing fee will be added if billed to your Carousel Farm account. If you can not be at the Farm when the work is done and assistance is needed with your horse(s), there will be a $5.00 per 1/2 hour holding fee. Please inform the Farm Management of any Vets or Farriers that will be coming on the property. LESSONS, INDEPENDENT INSTRUCTORS OR TRAINERS CAROUSEL FARM WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY HORSES FOR LESSONS. Each Instructor will have the availability of a privately owned horse that is being used in the lesson program through individual arrangements with the horse’s owner. Any Boarder is welcome to continue a lesson program and may use any Trainer or Instructor that is “approved” by the Carousel Farm Management for individual lessons on or with their own horses. Carousel Farm will not have a resident Trainer/Instructor. There will be a $10.00 per lesson or horse training session - FACILITY USE AND MAINTENANCE FEE - to Carousel Farm. ALL BOARDERS RIDE THEIR HORSES AT THEIR OWN RISK. Boarders are responsible for anyone that they permit to ride their horse(s). Every Boarder and Rider using the Carousel Farm facility will need to sign a “Liability Waiver” and have it on file with Carousel Farm Management. No one will be permitted to ride or otherwise handle a Boarder’s horse without the Boarder’s permission other than those appointed by Carousel Farm Management. GENERAL RULES FOR THE FARM: 1. There will be absolutely no smoking in the stable or at the front entrance to the stable. 2. No Dogs will be allowed in the stable or arena areas other than the Dogs that are owned by the Carousel Farm Management. 3. All young children should be accompanied by an adult and there should be no running, jumping and screaming allowed in the stable area. The Farm Management will not be a babysitting service.
4. Hard hats must be worn by those that are under 18 years of age and by any person that will be jumping their horse.
5. Please help us keep the stable neat and clean. * Pick up after yourself. Any items left unattended in the aisles for a period of time will become the property of Carousel Farm. * Put trash in containers and manure in the “pile”. * Clean the wash stall after use and remove your supplies. * Sweep up the aisle where you groomed your horse and picked their feet. * Please return all forks, brooms and wheel barrels to the appropriate storage areas. 6. Turn off the arena lights when not in use. The last person at the stable in the evenings should turn off all unnecessary lights prior to leaving. All Boarders are welcome to talk with the Management about any worries or concerns and we will be more than happy to settle any problems. This is a stable with a congenial atmosphere, with a group of people that care about their horses and appreciate this beautiful facility. Welcome to Carousel Farm.
