The Lady Hunter

2000 Appaloosa Mare

(The Hunter X Two Eyed Lady)

THE LADY HUNTER - "Whitney" was a real find for Carousel Farm.  Not only is "Whitney" sired by The Hunter, but she possesses the same breeding as the World Champion Hunter Under Saddle horse that was raised at Carousel Farm named TWO EYED HUNTER - (The Hunter X Two Eyed Scamp).  "Whitney" was purchased to cross with French Accent and produced her first foal for Carousel Farm in 2007.  She has proved to be an excellent choice to cross with French Accent as she has produced color when bred to French each time.  She produced us a highly colored chestnut colt in 2008 that we consider outstanding enough to raise him up as a future stallion for take his sire's place in the breeding shed and bearing his name of "French Accent".

"Whitney" is 16 H, blue roan Appaloosa mare, that came to Carousel Farm professionally trained.  She had been a show horse and has National points in Hunter Under Saddle and Hunter In Hand Mares.

Produce of The Lady Hunter

2008 Appaloosa Colt

(French Accent X The Lady Hunter)

"Chance" is a stunning colt.  He has the color, the size, disposition and movement to be one of the really good ones.  He has a gorgeous look to his head, a long neck, short back and deep hocked.  We are expecting great things from this colt and we expect him to mature to 17 hands and make an impression on the Appaloosa show world.

Watch out for "Chance" in 2009 as we plan to take him to the World Championship Appaloosa Horse Show.

2007 Appaloosa Mare

When "Gidget" arrived at Carousel Farm..............we were so happy.  We had a colored filly sired by French Accent.  She was our ugly duckling as a weanling as she was very tall and gawky, but we knew that she was destined for great things as she was a fantastic mover with a big floaty trot.  As fate would have it, "Gidget" came in from the pasture one day during her yearling year and she appeared to be lame and could barely stand by the next morning.  It was discovered that she had broken the knee of her left leg in 3 places.  We decided to give her a chance and the leg was cast and "Gidget" had to live out most of her yearling year confined to her stall except for trips to the vet to check the progress of her leg.  Inspite of the fact that "Gidget" must have suffered a great deal of pain, you could not have asked for a better patient or a horse that seemed to completely understand that we were trying to help her and she needed our help.  We never had to sedate her at any time to either work on her leg or when we would remove the cast and have to reapply the cast.......the whole ordeal was a big task for both the horse and those that cared for her.   The leg healed and fused so that she can support herself and walk around but not without a lot of damage to the other front leg due to it having to bear all the weight of a growing yearling.  "Gidget" will be maintained on Carousel Farm and will be added to the mares that will be bred to Always In The Mood in 2010 for her first foal to arrive in 2011.  We know that she is still with us because there is something else that she needs to do in her life.
