MADE YA LUKE - "Lucey" came to Carousel Farm after a search for some mares that were 100% AQHA that were sired by Luke At Me. Since the cross of French Accent's Dam - Wahoo Baby had been so successful with Luke At Me, it was decided that we should cross back on the same bloodline. We felt fortunate to have found Lucey since she was an own daugther of Luke At Me and he had just passed away prior to our locating this mare. Although Lucey is not an overly tall mare, it was her breeding that brought her into our program. Lucey has a really nice sweepy trot and a fluid moving deep legged canter and we expected a really nice foal from crossing back on bloodlines that have already proved to be so successful and "HOT" in the Hunter Under Saddle events. On April 6, 2007, Lucey did not let us down..........she produced an outstanding "gray" colt sired by French Accent. We were so pleased with the cross the we have repeated the breeding. Lucey was rebred to French Accent for a foal for 2008.
Lucey did produce a really cute filly in 2008, but due to some complications the filly had to be put down.
At that time, Catherine Dunnagan took a look at her breeding program and decided to move back to raising the breed of her choice which is Appaloosas and Lucey was bred to Always In The Mood in 2008 to see how she would cross with that bloodline.
And she did not disappoint us with the resulting foal for 2009.........
