Carousel Farm Fulton, New York

Carousel Farm is one of central New York's premier boarding stables and came into the ownership of Catherine Dunnagan in July of 1997. The former Highland Pines Stable on County Route 6 in Fulton, New York was purchased by Catherine Dunnagan and renamed Carousel Farm.
Catherine Dunnagan has lived in Central New York area since 1981 and she was raised in North Carolina. By way of South Carolina, Florida and Kentucky, having been previous homes to Catherine, she moved in the New York area to go to work for the Miller Brewing Company and after five years changed jobs and went to working at Anheuser-Busch, Inc. in Baldwinsville, New York where she has been employeed for over 20 years.
Catherine is a very competitive rider in the Non-Pro Division at the Appaloosa shows throughout the Northeast and an established Appaloosa breeder, standing such well known stallions as Skips Streak and The Absolut.
It was a real fluke that Catherine managed to come into the ownership of Carousel Farm, but it must have been meant to be as she offered the previous owner David McFarland a ridiculous sum for the property when he had it for sale and he shook her hand and told her that she was now the owner of this fabulous facility. Since that time, Catherine has tried to maintain a first class boarding facility and although she lost both her breeding stallions - Skips Streak and The Absolut, she continued to dabble in a breeding program by crossing out to well known Appaloosa stallions such as The Hunter, Lads Strawman and Impulsive Zipper that resulted in some her most recent offspring that have become World Champions.
The discovery of French Accent as a breeding horse prompted Catherine to consider getting back into the Appaloosa breeding arena and a goal for Carousel Farm has been established to become an outstanding breeding farm for Hunter Under Saddle horses for the Paints, AQHA and mostly importantly the Appaloosa horse. With the passing of the Performance Permit for resulting solid colored Appaloosas that are the offspring of a registered Appaloosa horse and an outcross such as a AQHA or Thoroughbred, the field is once again "wide open" for new blood to enhance the gorgeous Appaloosa horse. Catherine is continually searching for those Appaloosa mares that have their background in the Hunter Under Saddle area and have the movement desirable of the modern huntseat horses to cross with her thoroughbred stallion - French Accent.
